3. Job Title: AVP, Consumer Technology
Responsibilities
· Oversee the design and development of Astro¿s basic and advanced
User Terminal to provide a platform for Marketing, Sales and Programming department
generating various revenue streams for the company.
· Lead the implementation of content protection and other security system
of Astro smart card combating piracy to protect the company revenue.
· Supervise the integration and validation of User Terminal and any core
application such as EPG, Video on Demand etc to ensure Vendors¿ deliverables
conform with Astro requirement specification and budget prior to commercial
deployment.
· Engage in contract negotiation with Technology Provider such as Middleware,
Conditional Access Systems and User Terminal Supplier to define the technical
specification scope of work and supporting on the commercial aspect.
· Develops a comprehensive hardware and software specification of the
User Terminal to provide a platform for Marketing, Sales and Programming department
to use in generating various revenue streams to the company. (i.e the advanced
user terminal shall offer Digital Video Recording, Push Video on Demand and
Home Networking. All this features have a huge potential to provide additional
revenue to the company)
· Ability to produce a Request For Proposal (RFP) on a new User Terminal
that Astro plan to deploy (with guidance from Head of Department) to send to
a group of potential technology provider.
· Supervising a group of engineers validating the quality of vendors¿
deliverables of any new product or improving existing product to detect any
blocking issues that will disrupt Astro services prior to commercial deployment.
(i.e a any unsuccessful software download exercise may crash all the user terminal
in the field affected all Astro¿s subscribers)
· Vendor Management skills tto ensure that vendors meet the contractual
timeline with minimum or minor defects in every project.
· Able to develop a fresh engineer to understand the user terminal architecture,
functionality, DVB standard, smart card security in a short time frame.
Qualifications
· Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Software Engineering
with 5-8 years experience in Digital TV Industry or Digital Broadcasting Company
especially in signal processing field.
· Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia language both Spoken and
written
· Knowledgeable in either head-end or STB in digital TV industry.
· Need to posses a strong technical knowledge to perform a technical
analysis according to proposal given by vendors in order to make the right technical
recommendation to HOD.
· Need to have competent negotiation skill while developing a contract
with technology provider protecting company interest in order to meet the technical
requirement with reasonable commercial implication
· Excellent in Microsoft Office application with ease.
· Posses strong technical knowledge on middleware and Conditional Access
technology.
· Experience in Digital TV especially on User Terminal software systems
architecture.

1. MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
- To manage accordance to standard quality levels.
- To establish a qualified supply chain for procurement process.
- A degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 4 years work experience.
- Possess hands-on and computational experience with light-weight structures and the design-build process and techniques.
- Experience with composite material particularly carbon composite is highly desirable.
- Establish a qualified supply chain for procurement process to achieve cost down & localization objectives.
2. QA/QC ENGINEER
- To organize and enforce QA/QC implementation in all processes of the manufacturing, maintenance and repair works.
- To establish and perform monitoring and qualification test so as to detect potential quality/reliability problems and resolve them with the manufacturing team.
- Able to work with electronic and paper documentation to ensure aircraft production is in compliance to ASTM standards.
- Assist in the implementation of safety, health and environment protection.
- A degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience in quality control of work nature including handling of composite materials, welding and assembly finishing.
- Experience in TQM and ISO compliance processes would be an advantage.
3.INSTRUMENT & ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
- To develop and install cost effective electrical systems for the integration of electronic equipment on aircraft and coordinate with production personnel during fabrication and aircraft installation process.
- 2-4 years of direct experience in performing the duties of an electrical design engineer in general aviation with knowledge in Power System Design and RF.
4.TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
- To supervise and assist in the production and to develop proper installation and maintenance procedures to ensure designed systems function reliably for as long as possible.
- Skilled engineers with degree/diploma in Engineering and 2-3 years experience in aviation.
5. TECHNICIANS-WELDERS/MECHANICS
- We invite application from highly skilled and certified technicians who will be responsible for various manufacturing line processes such as airframe welding, fabrication of wing ribs, installation of wing fabrics, installation of engine, instrumentation and avionics etc. Those with experience in handling composites and mould-making are also welcome.
6. PILOTS
- Pilots with minimum a Private Pilot License (PPL) to be trained as test pilots or flight instructors.
7. ACCOUNTS & ADMINISTRATIVE EXECUTIVE
- Responsible or handlling the name and accounting functions as well as general office administration including but not limited to leasing, insurance, purchase of office equipment and supplies and support in implementation of inventory control system.
- Possess at least a diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
